What to Expect
Before Your Treatment
- Avoid blood thinning medications for 2-3 days prior to your appointment. Blood thinning medications to avoid include ibuprofen, Aleve, and any vitamin or supplement that contains St. John’s Wort, Gingko Biloba, primrose oil, garlic, ginseng, or Vitamin E.
- If you are on a medically indicated blood thinning medication do not stop taking it and consult with the prescribing provider prior to your appointment for any instructions or recommendations they may have.
- Do not drink alcoholic beverages on the day of your treatment.
- Arrive to your appointment with a clean face. Remove all make up and wash your face with a gentle facial cleanser prior to your appointment
- If you have a history of facial cold sores there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to or exacerbate an eruption of cold sore lesions. Please start your anti-viral medication 3 days prior to your treatment and notify your treatment provider that you are prone to cold sores.
- Do not use Botox or any other neurotoxin if you are pregnant, are allergic to any ingredients, or suffer from any neurological disorders.

- Do not lie down for 4 hours following your treatment.

- Do not wear goggles or tight fitting masks for 8 hours post-treatment, if treatment was administered between or around the eyes.
- Refrain from heavy exercise or sweating and avoid direct sun, saunas, and hot tubs for 24 hours after your treatment.
- Contract and release the treated muscles every few minutes for the first 1-2 hours after your treatment.
- Follow up in 2-3 weeks is recommended to assess the effect of your treatment and to provide any balancing or adjustments if needed.
