Understanding Dermal Fillers
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that already exists naturally in the body. They are used to add volume, contour, and hydration to specific areas of the face.
Each formula is designed to act like a soft, supportive cushion beneath the skin. Fillers can be firm and structural for areas like the chin and jawline, or soft and flexible for delicate areas like the lips or under the eyes.
How Do Dermal Fillers Work?
As we age, we lose volume in our cheeks, lips, and other facial areas due to a decline in collagen, fat, and bone structure. Dermal fillers work by replacing that lost volume or enhancing features that may lack definition.
They are injected into precise points under the skin to lift, contour, or smooth. The result is a natural and youthful appearance that still looks like you, just more rested, balanced, and refreshed.
What Can Fillers Treat?
- Thin or uneven lips
- Hollow cheeks or loss of cheekbone definition
- A receding or under-projected chin
- Wrinkles around the mouth or lower face
- Smile lines and nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines from the corners of the mouth
- General facial asymmetry
- Jawline definition and structure
What Fillers Do Not Treat
Fillers are not used to relax facial muscles or prevent dynamic wrinkles. For expression lines like crow’s feet or forehead creases, neurotoxins are typically recommended.
Fillers also do not lift skin in the way that surgery can. For significant sagging or excess skin, we may suggest a combination of treatments.
Lip Filler
A Soft, Balanced, Beautiful Finish
Lip filler is one of our most requested treatments for a reason. It can create a subtle enhancement or a more noticeable volume boost, depending on your personal preference. Our technique focuses on symmetry, proportion, and lip health.
What Lip Filler Enhances
- Adds volume to naturally thin lips
- Evens out asymmetry
- Enhances lip shape and definition
- Restores hydration and softness
- Supports aging lips that have lost fullness
The Art of the Lip
Lips are one of the most expressive parts of your face. A great lip filler result should never look stiff or artificial. We use a tailored approach to make sure your lips feel soft, move naturally, and complement your entire face.
Cheek Filler
Lifted, Sculpted, Radiant
Cheek filler creates youthful contour and structure by restoring volume high on the cheekbones. This treatment not only enhances the cheeks themselves, but can also lift and soften shadows around the eyes and mouth.
What Cheek Filler Can Do
- Restores midface volume lost through aging
- Lifts the appearance of nasolabial folds
- Creates a sculpted cheekbone contour
- Adds youthful roundness and glow
- Provides support to the under eye area
For Definition and Dimension
High, full cheeks are one of the hallmarks of youth. Our providers carefully place filler to enhance the natural shape of your face without creating heaviness or puffiness.
Chin Filler
Balance and Structure from Every Angle
A well-defined chin can bring harmony to your entire face. Chin filler is used to enhance projection, create a smoother jawline, and support the lips and lower face.
Why Chin Filler Matters
- Enhances facial proportions from the side profile
- Defines and sharpens the lower face
- Helps reduce the appearance of jowls
- Balances the nose and lips for a more cohesive look
- Can help feminize or masculinize features depending on preference
The Foundation of the Profile
Often overlooked, the chin plays a major role in facial symmetry. Enhancing this area subtly transforms the full facial aesthetic.
Full Facial Balancing
Full Facial Refresh with Precision
The 8 Point Lift is a comprehensive technique that uses small amounts of filler in key areas of the face to restore youthful structure and volume. It is often referred to as the non-surgical facelift.
What Full Facial Balancing Addresses
- Cheek volume and contour
- Jawline definition
- Chin structure
- Smile lines and lower face support
A Strategic Approach
This treatment enhances facial harmony by addressing the areas that most contribute to aging. It lifts, smooths, and restores in a way that is elegant and understated.
What to Expect

- Discontinue Retin-A or other topical retinols two (2) days before and two (2) days after treatment.

- Starting over the counter oral Arnica pellets 2-3 days prior to your treatment has been proven to decrease the bruising potential during your treatment. This can be purchased online or over the counter at any pharmacy. Dosing is as directed on the packaging label.
- If you are prone to cold sores, starting your preventative antiviral medication 2-3 days prior to your treatment may help prevent cold sores from developing after your treatment.
- If you develop a cold sore, blemish, or rash, etc. on or near the treatment area prior to your appointment you must reschedule.
During Your Appointment
Appointments typically last between 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area being treated. Your provider will evaluate your facial structure, discuss your goals, and recommend a treatment plan. A numbing agent may be used to enhance comfort.
Aftercare Instructions
- DO NOT touch, press, rub, or manipulate the treatment areas and if your lips were treated you should avoid kissing, puckering, and sucking movements for the rest of the day as these motor movements can undesirably displace the injected dermal filler material and can cause irritation, sores, and/or possible scarring if you do.

- AVOID vigorous exercise and sun or heat exposure for 3 days after your treatment.
- It is recommended that you avoid wearing makeup or lipstick until the next day as it can lead to pustule formation or infection at the injection sites.
- You may resume use of Retin-A or other topical retinols 2 days after treatment.
- It is not uncommon for one side to heal faster than the other side. Please notify your provider right away though if you experience delayed or worsening wound healing than what you are used to.
- You can expect some bruising and swelling around the areas that were injected. Apply cool compresses for the first hour after treatment for ten minutes on and ten minutes off. You can continue routine cold pack application as needed for pain or swelling.
- Swelling and bruising can take 1-2 weeks to resolve and the full effect of your treatment will not be complete for at least 2 weeks.
- You must wait 2-3 weeks before any enhancements or any other facial procedures.
